Zusammenschluss von ISCOM und Fair Wear Foundation
ISCOM (International Social Compliance Verification), eine Initiative von Brot für alle, Fastenopfer und der Max Havelaar-Stiftung (Schweiz), und die niederländische Fair Wear Foundation haben sich im Jahr 2007 zusammengeschlossen.
Beide Organisationen setzen sich für die Verbesserung der Arbeitsbedingungen in der Herstellung von Bekleidung und anderen textilen Produkten ein und überprüfen als unabhängige Stelle die Umsetzung der Verhaltenskodizes der teilnehmenden Firmen.
Die Fair Wear Foundation ist eine Initiative niederländischer Branchenverbände der Textilwirtschaft, Gewerkschaften und Nichtregierungsorganisationen. Sie hat zurzeit 45 Mitgliedsfirmen in den Niederlanden, Dänemark, Deutschland und der Schweiz und ist in Bangladesch, Bulgarien, China, Indien, Litauen, Mazedonien, Polen, Portugal, Rumänien, Thailand, Tunesien, Türkei, Ukraine und Vietnam aktiv.
ISCOM and Fair Wear Foundation join forces
ISCOM (International Social Compliance Verification), an initiative of Bread for all (Switzerland), the Swiss Catholic Lenten Fund and the Max Havelaar-Foundation (Switzerland) joined forces with the Fair Wear Foundation in the Netherlands in 2007.
Both organisations work towards improving working conditions in the garment industry and carry out independent verification of code of conduct implementation by participating companies.
Fair Wear Foundation is an initiative of business associations in the garment sector, trade unions, and NGOs. At present it has 45 member companies in the Netherlands, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland and is active in Bangladesch, Bulgaria, China, India, Lithuania, Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Thailand, Tunesia, Turkey, Ukraine and Vietnam.
