Zusammenschluss von ISCOM und Fair Wear Foundation
ISCOM (International Social Compliance Verification), eine Initiative von Brot für alle, Fastenopfer und der Max Havelaar-Stiftung (Schweiz), und die niederländische Fair Wear Foundation schliessen sich zusammen.
Beide Organisationen setzen sich für die Verbesserung der Arbeitsbedingungen in der Bekleidungsindustrie ein und überprüfen als unabhängige Stelle die Umsetzung der Verhaltenskodizes der teilnehmenden Firmen.
Die Fair Wear Foundation ist eine Initiative niederländischer Branchenverbände der Textilwirtschaft, Gewerkschaften und Nichtregierungsorganisationen. Sie hat zurzeit über 30 Mitgliedsfirmen in den Niederlanden, Dänemark, Deutschland und der Schweiz und ist in China, Indien, Bangladesch, Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, der Türkei, Tunesien, Mazedonien, Rumänien, Bulgarien und Polen - und ab Mitte 2007 - auch in der Ukraine aktiv.
ISCOM and Fair Wear Foundation join forces
ISCOM (International Social Compliance Verification), an initiative of Bread for all (Switzerland), the Swiss Catholic Lenten Fund and the Max Havelaar-Foundation (Switzerland) join forces with the Fair Wear Foundation in the Netherlands.
Both organisations work towards improving working conditions in the garment industry and carry out independent verification of code of conduct implementation by participating companies.
Fair Wear Foundation is an initiative of business associations in the garment sector, trade unions, and NGOs. At present it has more than 30 member companies in the Netherlands, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland and is active in China, India, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Turkey, Tunisia, Macedonia, Romania, Bulgaria, Poland and - as of mid 2007 - Ukraine.
